1st Half of Kirby shell
I finally finished 3-D printing the first four shells of the lower half of my Kirby animatronic. I spent this last weekend sending and gluing each piece together. Printing the full shell in eight separate pieces has made it easier for me to sand some areas where I wouldn’t have full access to if it were printed in one piece. The last four pieces of the full shell are printing as I’m writing this. If everything goes right with the rest of the print, I should have the entire Shell put together within the next week and a half, but I don’t want to speak too soon. What a lot of people don’t know is I run into a lot of issues sometimes with warping, overall measurements or machine malfunctions all sometimes unavoidable issues. But keeping that in mind, the real key is to just push through until you get your part or design as accurate as possible. I’ve attached a few of the references I was talking about in my last post in regards to this animatronic.
